Itinerary
- Take a flight from Islamabad to Skardu. Upon arrival, obtain trekking permits.
Travel from Skardu to Askole (3,000m) by 4WD, drive through the Shigar and Braldu Valleys to Askole.
Trek from Askole, walk along the Braldu Valley to Jhola (3,160m) (Duration: approx. 8 hours).
Trek from Jhora via Skam Ysok to Paiju (3,450m) (Duration: approx. 8 hours). As you approach Paiju, the Baltoro Glacier will finally come into view.
Trek from Khoburtse (3,940m) to Urdukas (4,050m) (Duration: approx. 5 hours). On the way to Urdukas, the 8,000m peaks of Broad Peak and Gasherbrum will come into view.
Trek from Urdukas (4,050m) to Gore II (4,380m) (Duration: approx. 8 hours). Walk through spectacular scenery where you’ll see mountains ranging from 6,000m to 8,000m in height, including Masherbrum.
Trek from Gore II (4,380m) to Concordia (4,650m) (Duration: approx. 8 hours). With the Muztagh Tower on your left, head to Concordia (4,650m), the heart of the Karakoram, where you’ll be surrounded by famous mountains. Here, you’ll be able to see K2 for the first time.
Stay in Concordia. You will be at the 360° mountain amphitheater for the whole day, and will get to explore the surroundings, enjoying great views of K2 and other 7,000m-8,000m peaks.
Stay in Concordia (This is a reserve day for schedule changes due to weather etc.).
Trek from Concordia to Broad Peak B.C. (4,850m) (Duration: approx. 4 hours). You’ll get a great view of K2 and Angel Peak (6,805m) from up close. This is a wonderful location for getting a glimpse up at the north (7,490m), central (8,011m), and main peaks (8,047m) of Broad Peak.
Trek to K2 B.C. (5,100m) from Broad Peak B.C. and back (Duration: approx. 5 hours). On the way, you will also visit the memorial to the mountaineers who lost their lives on expeditions to the Karakoram.
Trek from Broad Peak B.C. to Concordia (Duration: approx. 4 hours).
Trek from Concordia to Gore I (Duration: approx. 7 hours).
Trek from Gore I to Khoburtse (Duration: approx. 8 hours).
Trek from Khoburtse to Paiju (Duration: approx. 6 hours).

"Important Information" Mountain climbing/trekking visas and permits
- The Baltoro Glacier is a restricted area, and in order to trek there, you will need to obtain a special Mountaineering/Trekking Visa and a trekking permit, as opposed to a standard tourist visa. It takes between 45 and 60 days to obtain this special Visa between the months of May and July, and between 30 and 45 days between August and September. You will need to apply for your visa well in advance to allow time for the necessary preparations.

Itinerary
* This is a long-term trek at high altitude. There are no villages or shops along the way, and the environment is wilder and more severe than even a trek in Nepal. The route involves walking along cliff paths by the river, over rocks, on moraines, on paths with poor footing, and on glaciers, etc. The maximum elevation gain (or drop) you can expect in one day is 500m, and the duration of the trek is 4 to 9 hours. This is a trek that requires sufficient physical and mental strength to carry out: trekkers must be able to stay in a camp for a long period of time and walk continuously on trails with poor footing. * Treks to Gasherbrum Base Camp, and over Gondogolo-La Pass can be arranged. Trekking equipment & services we provide
On our Indus Caravan treks, we provide guides, cooks and porters, as well as tents, mattresses, kitchen tents, dining tents, and toilet tents. We can also provide sleeping bags, generators, satellite phones, walkie-talkies, portable hyperbaric bags, pulse oximeters, and other equipment upon request. * The highest altitude for overnight stays is 4,850m at Broad Peak B.C., and the highest point reached is 5,100m at K2 B.C. with a maximum daily height gain (or drop) of 500m. The itinerary is altitude sickness-friendly with a slow altitude gain to allow for smooth acclimatization. Oxygen cylinders, pulse oximeters, and portable hyperbaric bags are available for rent. Contact us for more information. * The 4WD journey from Skardu to Askole is rather rough and may take some time to complete. * Please ensure you have travel insurance. We will check your coverage ahead of time to ensure you are prepared in the event of an emergency.
