Itinerary

Travel from Islamabad to Peshawar, en route visiting the World Heritage Site of the Gandhara Buddhist Temple of Takht-i-Bahi, then head to Peshawar. For dinner, enjoy a taste of Domba sheep meat at Namak Mandi.
 In the morning, visit the Peshawar Museum, which has a rich collection of Gandhara artifacts. Then, visit the exotic Kissa Khawani Bazaar before returning to Islamabad.
Go on a one-day trip from Islamabad to visit the Gandhara Buddhist sites of Taxila, a World Heritage Site—there’s plenty to see here, including the remains of the city of Sirkap, the monastery of Jaulian, the Dharmarajika stupa, the Buddhist temple of Mola Mola Dadu, and the Taxila Museum.
*If time permits, you can also visit the Buddhist archaeological remains of Bhamala, which was opened to the public in 2023.
 
Head toward the ancient city of Lahore. On the way, you can visit another World Heritage Site the Lotus Fort, which was built during the Mughal Empire.
A full-day visit to the World Heritage Site of the ancient city of Lahore (including Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, Shalimar Gardens, Lahore Museum, etc.). In the evening, you’ll witness the flag ceremony at Wagah, on the border with India. Finally, you can enjoy dinner at a restaurant with a view of the illuminated Badshahi Mosque.
 From Lahore, we will travel to Sukkur, located on the bank of the Indus River. On the way, we’ll visit the archaeological site of Harappa, an ancient city of the Indus Valley Civilization.
Travel from Sukkur to Mohenjo-daro. We will visit the fortress, residential area, and museum of the World Heritage Site of Mohenjo-daro. You’ll get to experience the ruins in the setting sun.
Enjoy a stroll in the ancient ruins during the morning, when there are fewer tourists. Then, head for Karachi, Pakistan's largest city, which faces the Arabian Sea. On the way, visit Makli Necropolis in Thatta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's largest graveyards.
