The most accessible 5,000m/16,400ft peak in Pakistan is Rush Phari Peak. The peak can be approached from Hunza, known as a village, that has been likened to “Shangri-La”, by going up north on the Karakorum Highway. Rush Phari is one of the best peaks to view the Karakoram Range including Diran, Rakaposhi, Ultar, Spantik, Malubiding, and Hispar Glacier.

Itinerary
- Fly from Islamabad to Gilgit. Upon arrival, proceed to Karimabad, the center of Hunza.
*In case of flight cancellation, travel overland to Chilas to spend a night and arrive in Karimabad in the afternoon of the second day.
- Full day to explore Hunza.
- Drive to Bualtar Glacier (Hoper) (2,790m) on the other side of Hunza River by a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
Trek across the glacier (about 6 hours)
Descend the cliff and cross the Bualtar Glacier (Hoper). Afterward, you will see the Barpu Glacier ,Ultar, Hunza Peak, Lady Finger, and the other mountains of Hunza. Following the glacier, we will arrive at Baricho Kor (3,300m).
- To the observation point at 4,400m/14,400ft (about 5 hours)
Climb slowly up the steep left ridge of Baricho Kor for about 3 hours. As we ascend, the Barpu Glacier will appear behind us. As we climb higher, we will reach Chidin Harai (4,440m), a good viewpoint.
- Climbing the 5,000m/16,400ft peak of Karakoram (about 8-10 hours)
Via Rushfari Lake (4,694m), climb the rocky terrain to Rushfari Peak at 5,098m (about 4 hours ascent). If the weather is good, you will have a panoramic view of the Hispar Glacier to the north and the famous peaks of Hunza to the west. After enjoying the view, we will return to Rush Lake and continue our descent to Phai Phari (3,450m).
- Trek across the glacier (about 5 hours)
We start our glacier crossing by walking to Dachigan, where rock paintings still remain. We will walk from the rocky Sumaiyar Bar Glacier to the Miar Glacier. After reaching the other side of the glacier, we will walk to Hamdar (3,270m) overlooking the Barpu Glacier.
- Trek across the glacier (about 3 hours)
Join the outward route and cross the Bualtar Glacier again to Hoper. Return to Hunza by four-wheel-drive vehicle and drive south on the Karakoram Highway to Gilgit.
- Fly to Islamabad.(In case of flight cancellation, drive to Islamabad.You will reach to Islamabad at late- night.)

The highest camp altitude is 4,400m and the highest point reached is 5,098m at Rushfari Peak. No special trek / mountaineering skills are required, but regular trekking experience is required to need to walk on glaciers, moraine with poor footholds, and climb up slightly steep sections. - DISCLAIMER
